Closing Date: Monday, November 10th, 2025, at 9:00 PM (PST) Position: Recreation Program Leader-Batting Cages Department: Parks, Arts, Recreation, and Community Services Hourly Range: $18.31 - $21.20 Classification: Temporary  Non-Exempt – Overtime Eligible General Summary:  Under general supervision, oversight of the Lancaster Batting Range, helping patrons with token payments, cage rentals, and facility cleanliness, as well as working Citywide special events. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: * None Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  * Circulating and aware of any machine issues, incidents, accidents, and injuries that may occur at the batting range during a shift. * Be visible and available to patrons. * Take and process payments through Active Net. * Opening and closing of the building and facility. * Work with patrons who want to rent the cages. * Complete cash counting reports. * Sanitize all helmets and bats once returned from patrons. * Welcomes visitors and answers incoming phone calls. * Be friendly, courteous, and helpful to all patrons. The duties listed above are not intended to be all-inclusive. An employee may also perform other related duties as assigned by their immediate supervisor. This position is considered non-exempt. Minimum Qualifications: * Ability to organize, plan, direct and lead a group of children or adults * Write reports and evaluations * Understand and follow written and oral instructions * Deal tactfully and effectively with staff, participants and the public EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: * Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for acceptable job performance. * Currently enrolled in a college or university majoring in Recreation or a related field is desirable. Responsibilities
The Recreation Program Leader will oversee the Lancaster Batting Range, assisting patrons with payments and rentals while ensuring facility cleanliness. Responsibilities also include managing machine issues and maintaining a positive environment for visitors.
