Job Summary
The Recreation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing, supervising, and managing all recreation programming, activities, services, and events for ages 10 through adulthood. This role focuses on delivering culturally appropriate programs that promote exercise, wellness, and healthy lifestyles. The Recreation Supervisor also plays a lead role in the development and daily operation of the Youth Centre and its associated programs and events.
Responsibilities and Duties

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Grade 12 diploma plus relevant post-secondary education or training.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of issues facing First Nations youth and children.
  • Familiarity with Nak’azdli community, culture, and traditions.
  • Experience planning programs with clear outcomes.
  • Computer proficiency (MS Word, MS Excel).
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and positive attitude.
  • Food Safe and Emergency First Aid certification.
  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License.
  • Clear criminal record check with vulnerable section.

Working Conditions

  • Must be physically able to participate in recreational activities.
  • Must be able to attend meetings and give presentations.
  • Manual dexterity required for computer use.
