We’ll help you learn, support your success, and surround you with people who believe in service, community, respect, and making a meaningful difference every day.   Pay Range * $40,000 - $45,000/year   Employment Type * Full-Time   Why Join Resthaven? ✔ A supportive and mission-driven work culture ✔ Opportunities for growth, leadership, and development ✔ A chance to make a real impact in the lives of residents every day ✔ NOMI health insurance network with zero co-pay, deductible or co-insurance expense   Essential Responsibilities * Plan, coordinate, and evaluate therapeutic recreation programs that support residents' physical, emotional, cognitive, and social well-being. * Conduct assessments and develop individualized recreation interventions, group programs, community outings, and one-on-one activities. * Supervise Recreation Therapy staff and volunteers while supporting daily department operations. * Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate recreation services into resident care plans and quality-of-life initiatives. * Maintain accurate documentation, including assessments, care plans, progress notes, MDS, and discharge summaries. * Coordinate resident and family engagement initiatives, including councils and support groups. * Develop and maintain weekly and monthly activity calendars based on resident interests and assessed needs. * Support staff development through coaching, training, and participation in hiring activities. * Assist with departmental goal setting, program evaluation, and continuous quality improvement efforts.   Knowledge, Skills & Abilities * Strong knowledge of therapeutic recreation principles, resident-centered care, and leisure programming. * Ability to assess resident needs and develop meaningful interventions that enhance quality of life. * Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills. * Ability to lead, coach, and collaborate effectively with staff, residents, families, volunteers, and community partners. * Strong organizational, documentation, and time-management skills. * Commitment to resident rights, confidentiality, advocacy, and person-centered care.   Education, Training, Experience * Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, or a related field required. * Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) certification required. * Experience working with older adults, rehabilitation, dementia care, or long-term care populations preferred. * Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred. * Working knowledge of healthcare regulations, documentation standards, and resident assessment processes preferred.   Physical Demands * Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and movement throughout the community. * Ability to lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds. * Ability to transport equipment and assist residents during activities and outings as needed. * Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments and participate in resident activities.  
Responsibilities
