JOB PURPOSE

To assist the Managers and Supervisors in the efficient and effective operation of The Quay Zone Leisure Centre at our temporary facility in Maybole until December/January when we will return to our premises in Knockcushan Street, Girvan

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· To supervise and lifeguard The Quay Zone swimming pool and dry side facilities in a professional and considerate way.
· To work as part of The Quay Zone team to ensure the highest standards of safety, cleanliness and service are maintained at all times for all users.
· To ensure that all wet and dry side facilities and equipment are checked, prepared, maintained and recorded in accordance with the Centre’s Operating Procedures and practices.
· To assist with the supervision of activities and events and promote teamwork and good communication with customers and colleagues.

SPECIFIC POST RESPONSIBILITIES

· To provide a lifeguard service and ensure that all swimming activities take place in compliance with The Quay Zone Normal Operating Procedure (NOP), Emergency Action Plan (EAP) and any other relevant policies and procedures.
· As instructed, to ensure all Centre plant equipment and resources are inspected and maintained in accordance with current procedures and carry out and record swimming pool water tests and other maintenance operations as required by the NOP.
· To carry out cleaning to maintain the Quay Zone and its immediate environs in a clean, hygienic and tidy condition at all times and to ensure all procedures for handling and storing chemicals and equipment are followed and that the public are safeguarded at all times.
· To ensure that paper and electronic records of safety tests, maintenance activity, cleaning and any other recorded activity are rigorously maintained.
· When necessary to undertake reception, café and other roles, including the operation of a leisure management system and handling cash and electronic payments as required for the efficient and effective operation of the Centre.
· To assist with the set-up, supervision and dismantling of equipment, furniture etc. for both wet and dry side activities and events.
· To give training assistance to Centre users for both wet and dry side activities including, where appropriate, inductions and coaching.
· Whenever possible to promote The Quay Zone facilities and services and work as part of the team to develop and implement new services and activities.
· To deliver high standards of customer care and safety to all users.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £23,878.40 per year
