Recruitment Consultant | Manchester

Make your ability worth more.

There are recruiters no better than you earning considerably more than you.

Before you explain why they’re lucky, find out what they recruit.

You might be winning clients, filling difficult jobs and working harder than most people around you. Your manager thinks you’re brilliant. You’ve probably been told you’re “absolutely smashing it” several times this month.

Lovely.

Does any of that show up in your bank account?

I’m hiring recruitment consultants for high-value specialist markets in Manchester. People who can sell, think commercially and want their next move to change what they can earn, not just where they park.

Your average fee deserves more attention than your next pay rise.

To bill £250,000 on £5,000 fees, you need 50 placements.

On £25,000 fees, you need ten.

That’s a fairly important detail to overlook when choosing what you’re going to spend the next five years getting good at.

Yet recruiters will negotiate another £2,000 on their basic, accept a slightly better title and move straight into another business with exactly the same limitations.

Congratulations. You’ve made the same career decision in a different building.

I want to speak to recruiters who are ready to look at the economics of their career properly.

The value of the people you place. The fees your clients will pay. The strength of the market. The commission you keep. The people teaching you. What genuinely exceptional performance could earn you.

Those things deserve considerably more attention than whether the office has a pool table.

A market that gives you something worth building.

You’ll move into a specialist sector where valuable appointments create room for substantial fees, strong billings and serious personal earnings.

You’ll earn those fees by understanding your market, winning client trust and giving talented people compelling reasons to consider moving. That takes more than finding someone available and forwarding their CV.

You’ll build relationships with people making important hiring decisions. Become knowledgeable enough that clients seek your opinion. Develop a network that becomes more valuable as the people in it progress.

And you’ll work around successful recruiters whose results give you a reason to listen.

Being the best person in your current office might be doing wonders for your confidence and absolutely nothing for your development.

Go somewhere that makes you raise your standards.

Learn how bigger billers win business, handle objections, negotiate and manage their desks. Build something with enough commercial value to support the income and progression you actually want.

Bring your ability. Learn the market.

You don’t need to have spent your entire career in the sector you move into. You do need evidence that you can recruit.

Have you won clients from nothing? Built relationships that keep producing business? Filled difficult vacancies? Turned a poor desk into something productive?

Good. Those are worth talking about.

I’m interested in intelligent, competitive recruiters who learn quickly, ask good questions and care about getting better. People who want to work hard but have started questioning whether they’re working hard in the right place.

You might be billing well already. You might be capable of considerably more than your current results suggest.

But simply being unhappy with your earnings isn’t enough. You need to bring something we can build on.

Wanting a bigger commission payment is understandable. Being prepared to become the recruiter who earns it is the requirement.

Let’s look at what you could do somewhere better.

Tell me your market, your average fee, what you’ve billed and what you want to earn. I’ll give you a proper assessment of where your experience could take you.

I’m not interested in moving you down the road so you can repeat the same year with a new email address.

If you’re going to work this hard, stop doing it somewhere that needs you to lower your expectations.
