Position Overview
Reporting to the Associate Director, People & Culture, the Recruiter plays a pivotal role in sourcing, attracting, and selecting top-tier candidates to join our organization. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing effective recruitment strategies, building a strong talent pipeline, and ensuring a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process. The Recruiter is expected to be customer service-oriented and exhibit a high degree of diplomacy and discretion.
Accountabilities

Recruiting

  • Supports the recruiting strategy to ensure FMB attracts high caliber talent in a timely manner.
  • Performs full cycle recruitment to support all business lines by completing tasks such as:
  • Conducting phone screens
  • Scheduling interviews
  • Creating interview questions
  • Interviewing
  • Criminal reference checks
  • Personal reference checks
  • Creates and monitors job postings, advertising externally as needed.
  • Determines sourcing & attraction strategies/methodologies to increase FMB’s ability to attract, source and recruit indigenous candidates.
  • Supports orientation of new employees as needed.
  • Ensures compliance with local and federal Employment Standards.

Other

  • Maintains employee files and records.
  • Understands and applies HR policies and guidelines ensuring compliance.
  • Promotes consistent company culture in alignment with FMB values.
  • Supports initiatives in Employee health, safety, and wellness.

The Recruiter performs other duties as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary Education in Human Resource Management from a recognized educational institution or relevant experience required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years recruitment experience.
  • Previous experience, knowledge or understanding in Indigenous culture an asset.
  • Experience connecting with and/or recruiting Indigenous candidates a strong asset.
  • Excellent communicator with a strong command of written and spoken English. French or Indigenous language skills considered an asset.
  • Exceptional relationship building skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Canadian federal employment/labour laws and general human resources policies and procedures.
  • Effective working skills of Microsoft and Adobe software products.

  • This position is can be based in Winnipeg, MB, Montreal, QC or Ottawa, ON. Hybrid work arrangements may be considered.
