Position Summary:
Ogletree Deakins has an opportunity for an experienced Attorney Recruiting Manager to join the Firm’s expanding Recruiting team. Our Recruiting Team supports full-cycle recruiting efforts for all staff and legal positions firm-wide. Working closely with shareholder leadership and the broader Recruiting team, the Attorney Recruiting Manager is responsible for all aspects of the recruiting cycle for lateral attorneys in the Eastern and Midwest regions of the firm. This position reports to the firm’s Director of Recruiting. The manager will proactively source candidates for current and future hiring needs, while keeping the firm’s core values and commitment to building diverse and inclusive teams top of mind.

Essential Functions:

  • Communicate with shareholder leadership across the firm to get a clear understanding of hiring needs and organizational goals
  • Manage the full recruitment cycle for candidates, from sourcing and interview scheduling, to offer extension and coordination of tailored closing efforts
  • Serve as the recruiting lead for attorney onboarding
  • Provide leadership with proactive updates on active searches and pipeline metrics, target lists, recruiting activity, search strategy and talent assessment
  • Partner with internal marketing and communications teams to develop new and innovative strategies to market the firm to candidates
  • Collaborate with other recruiting team members, HR, the career/attorney development and DEI teams, and local office administration to create a seamless and efficient approach to recruiting, onboarding and integration across offices
  • Serve as firm liaison for candidates
  • As needed, coordinate alternative sources of legal talent (e.g., temporary staff, contract and staff attorneys)
  • As needed, lead special projects and collaborate with broader Talent team on strategic initiatives
  • Stay informed of market issues and trends; track information and analyze competitive data, best practices, and trends to make recommendations to firm leadership
  • Responsible for ensuring that the firm’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion is embedded in all aspects of the recruiting cycle

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of recruiting experience, preferably in the legal industry
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems, e.g., iCIMS or VIRecruit
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Demonstrated ability to balance priorities in a high-performing, fast-paced work environment
  • Demonstrated ability to drive processes and tasks to completion and to meet competing deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
  • Excellent communications (written and oral) and interpersonal skills with lawyers, all levels of administrative staff, and contacts outside the firm
  • Strong judgment and ability to manage highly confidential and sensitive information.
  • Familiarity with state and federal laws related to hiring
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism in all interactions and responsibilities
  • Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a law firm
  • Knowledge and familiarity with Business Immigration law
  • Experience conducting market research and sourcing candidates
  • Experience with recruiting data analytics
  • Experience recruiting through multiple sources, including online, referrals and search firms when necessary
