ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4 years experience in a university graduate student services environment.
  • Experience advising and presenting to small and large diverse prospective student groups on graduate admission requirements
  • Experience working with under-represented groups and equity initiatives with a strong understanding of issues and challenges facing these groups
  • Experience with data collection, analysis and generating reports.
  • Excellent communication, public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in ROSI, Slate and Microsoft Office with advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Superior organizational skills with the ability to work well under pressure within a rapidly changing environment to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing outstanding advising and student services with a proven record of tact, diplomacy and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to travel independently, valid driver’s license in good standing and access to a vehicle.
Responsibilities

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Fostering and maintaining a network of external contacts to support recruitment strategies
  • Delivering student recruitment presentations
  • Promoting programs at recruitment events
  • Interpreting academic regulations, program and degree requirements
  • Keeping well-informed on University programs, policies and procedures
  • Analyzing service delivery and/or internal processes and recommending improvements
  • Providing basic support and general referrals to individuals in distress
