Following promotion within the team, we are recruiting for a Recruitment Co-Ordinator to join our team.
This is a really exciting time to join our Workforce Planning Team involved in recruitment, workforce planning and talent management activities across the Scottish Prison Service. If you enjoy working across a range of tasks and activities, this could be the role for you!
You do not need to have prior recruitment experience to excel in this role, instead we are looking to recruit someone with transferable skills and a positive attitude, to learn in role and deliver a first class service. This role will provide an excellent opportunity for the post holder to grow and develop as an HR professional.
The purpose of the role is to provide comprehensive support to Resourcing Managers and Hiring Managers in the co-ordination, facilitation and delivery of the end to end recruitment process for a range of internal and external vacancies across the Scottish Prison Service.
The focus will be on providing an excellent recruitment experience for hiring managers and candidates. You will ensure that campaigns are designed and implemented in a way which meets business needs and adheres to the Civil Service Recruitment Principles of open and fair competition.
Overall, you will have a positive and valuable contribution to play in attracting and securing high calibre candidates into roles across the SPS, from candidate engagement to candidate placement.
This role is eligible for Hybrid working arrangements, and has flexi-time opportunity available. This role may offer the opportunity to be supported to achieve professional qualifications and training opportunities.
Responsibilities
1
Provide a comprehensive and high quality recruitment service for a range of internal and external vacancies from vacancy preparation and advertising through to candidate screening, selection and placement. Ensure that recruitment and selection methods are applied in a way that is organised and in compliance with our Policies, Procedures and in line with the Civil Service Recruitment Principles.
1
Liaise closely with line managers whilst ensuring that campaigns are both designed and implemented in a way which is tailored to the needs of the business but also compliant with SPS policies.
1
Provide guidance, support, advice and feedback to candidates, hiring managers and Resourcing Managers throughout the recruitment process. Your approach will be customer and stakeholder focused.
1
Provide accurate and timely transactional responses and communication with candidates and hiring managers, responding to queries and requests as appropriate and using discretion to resolve issues.
1
Provide management information, analysis and manipulation of the data to support evaluation and decision making.
1
Assist with on-going Resourcing project work in policy/systems development as required.
Person Specification
SPS recruitment and selection practice is based on the fundamentals of our Competencies for Success Framework. This identifies behaviours and standards required both of applicants seeking to join us, and our staff in their respective roles. Assessment of specific behaviours, of which there are eight, will be determined by the role you are applying for. Whilst it is unlikely you will be assessed on all of them, you will be assessed on those identified as key to role.
