The Role

The recruitment manager is responsible for overseeing all elements of our recruitment process, providing managers with support and advice. They develop and implement our recruiting procedures, ensuring compliance to current legislation and that our recruitment supports our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion. The role is crucial in effectively managing the recruitment process and ensuring we hire the right talent for our current and future needs.
What you will do
- Support the senior people and development business partner in our recruitment approach review and implementing improvements. This will include developing new processes, policy and procedures.
- Responsible for ensuring a clear, up to date, forward looking recruitment plan is in place. Make decisions on planning of recruitment based on organisational risk and priorities.
- Allocate work to the support officer and oversee their work to meet recruitment timelines and provide a seamless process for candidates and recruiting managers.
- Report on recruiting data as part of our regular monthly business partner and organisational quarterly reporting, highlighting risk and provide suggestions for mitigation.
- Develop, design and deliver training, on our recruitment policies and processes to recruiting managers and interview panels, to provide a positive candidate experience and with a focus on our values, behaviours and equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Create inclusive job profiles and adverts that help candidates understand whether our roles are right for them.
- Research and advise on the most effective and appropriate advertising methods to attract high quality candidates.
- Advise recruiting managers on interview techniques, supporting them to develop the right questions and exercises to select the best candidates.
- Provide professional challenge to ensure the right recruitment methods are used for roles, using research and knowledge of the current candidate market.
- Coordinate with the people business partners to forecast future hiring needs
Your skills, knowledge and experience
- Experience and demonstrable understanding of managing recruitment and adopting best practice.
- Experience in providing proactive advice on recruitment and selection.
- Experience of supporting line managers, providing professional challenge.
- An ability to work independently and enthusiastically, taking responsibility for timely delivery of objectives
- The ability to analyse statistics and data to produce effective management reporting information.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to create and present clear, well-structured policies and reports.
- Excellent oral and listening skills with the ability to make sound and considered decisions and judgements.
- Evidence of instilling confidence and credibility when dealing with sensitive, challenging and difficult situations.
- A strong team player, capable of developing effective relationships at all levels within our organisation.
- A demonstrable commitment to inclusion and diversity.
