The Strategic Medical Operations Unit has been created to establish a new locum medical workforce sourcing business within NSW Health. This new business unit will directly engage medical locums, reducing reliance on third-party agencies and improving cost control and overall system quality. The Unit will also explore innovative and flexible ways to engage with doctors to enhance current attraction and retention strategies.The Strategic Recruitment & Talent Acquisition Lead will be the SME within the Strategic Medical Operations Development Team and provide expert guidance and advice on recruitment and talent acquisition strategy and lead the development of new and innovative recruitment practices and policies, to provide the contingent medical workforce with an optimal candidate experience, while streamlining the hiring manager’s process.This role will focus on data driven insights and strong stakeholder engagement to establish a high-quality talent pool and end-to-end recruitment functionality and will develop and implement both a go-to-market launch campaign as well as BAU registration/recruitment campaigns for contingent medical officers.Health Manager Level 5, starting salary from $166,678 - $186,448 p.a. plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week, work location- 1 Reserve Road, St LeonardsFor more information, please read the full Role Description.What you’ll be doing
  • Develop and implement a robust talent strategy to attract both specialist and non-specialist doctors aligned with NSW Health’s workforce goals.
  • Provide input into the design of a new recruitment ICT system and drive policy reform to support efficient and innovative contingent workforce recruitment.
  • Promote NSW Health’s employer brand through national and international campaigns to build a strong internal talent bank and reduce reliance on external agencies.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to improve recruitment processes and use data analytics to inform strategy, monitor performance, and support decision-making.
  • Ensure recruitment practices are cost-effective, legally compliant, and aligned with industry best practices.

ABOUT YOU

We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:

  • Extensive leadership experience in talent acquisition, talent development and/or a related field
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in human resources, people and culture, public policy or related field (and/or relevant industry experience in talent acquisition)
  • Track record in driving an innovation agenda to support HR and talent functions in a variety of settings, including policy, process and/or technology
  • Proven track record of managing stakeholders with conflicting agendas and multiple competing priorities to deliver projects on time
  • Experience in leading the development and implementation of innovative technology solutions to support talent and recruitment functions, including eliciting and developing business requirements from lay and expert stakeholders.
