KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Physical ability to independently lift refuse (up to 25kg) into garbage bins. Ability to remove heavier items with assistance, climbing up and down stairs
  • Self-directed, self-motivated and ability to work independently. Regularly monitor the grounds without the need for direct supervision. Uses judgement to organize work and determine when assistance is required to safely remove larger/heavier objects
  • Ability to develop positive working relationships by being friendly to co-workers and tenants/occupants of Platt’s Lane Estates
Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will assist the Platt’s Lane Estates Maintenance Coordinator keep the Complex attractive by:
1. Monitoring the garbage depots and surrounding areas and cleaning up as required
2. Monitoring the recycle depots and breaking down discarded cardboard boxes and placing them in the appropriate bins
3. Help to remove abandoned items (mattresses, appliances, etc.) from vacated apartments and townhouses
4. Delivery of notices to apartments and townhouses
5. Assist with pre move out/in, unit inspections to ensure readiness of unit or need potential need for repairs. Inspect/Test/Change batteries of smoke/CO detectors.
6. Distribution or delivery of amenities to units as required. Eg. small furniture replacement, drapery, replacement window screens, space heaters, etc.
7. Assist with education of tenants on basic apartment living/protocols.
