SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

WHAT’S INVOLVED WITH THIS ROLE:

We are looking for a motivated and responsible Recycling & Waste Team Leader and Driver to join our Environmental Services team. You will play a key leadership role in the daily operation of waste and recycling collections, ensuring high standards of service, safety, and compliance across your crew and route.
This is a hands-on position combining driving duties with crew supervision, ensuring collections are carried out efficiently and in accordance with health and safety regulations and customer expectations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Drive and operate waste collection vehicles, including LGV/HGV Class 2 vehicles, safely and efficiently.
• Supervise a small team of loaders, ensuring daily tasks are completed to the required standard.
• Monitor the performance of team members and provide on-the-job guidance and support.
• Carry out pre-use vehicle checks and ensure any faults or defects are reported promptly.
• Liaise with supervisors and depot management to report issues or delays.
• Communicate effectively with members of the public in a professional and courteous manner.
