The Red Hat JBoss EAP 8.x Migration Consultant will assist with the migration of applications from Weblogic/Websphere to JBoss EAP 8.x, perform code analysis and refactoring, assist in JDK upgrades, performance tuning, and troubleshooting. This role will also involve providing architecture recommendations, developing shell scripts for deployment and maintenance, and documenting daily operational activities.
Assist in the migration of applications from Weblogic/Websphere to JBoss EAP 8.x.
Support the analysis and refactoring of application code for migration from JBoss 7.x/Weblogic/Websphere to JBoss 8.x using Migration Toolkit for Applications (MTA) or equivalent tools provided by UOB.
Assist in the namespace migration from javax to Jakarta.
Provide support in JDK upgrade from Oracle JDK/OpenJDK 8/11/15 to Oracle JDK/OpenJDK 17/21.
Assist in application performance tuning and conducting load testing.
Support configuration of tuning parameters for JVM, OS, and network parameters.
Troubleshoot and provide advice regarding JBoss JWS (JBoss Web Server).
Recommend architecture and best practices for subsystems such as Elytron, Undertow, Datasources, and Messaging.
Develop and maintain shell scripts to improve deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting efficiency.
Provide Day 2 Operations documentation for managing and maintaining the application’s environment.
Deliver documentation on troubleshooting and day-to-day operations as required by the customer.
Provide monthly reports on incidents and completed work.
Certified in Red Hat JBoss EAP 7.x and 8.x.
Experience migrating applications from Weblogic/Websphere to JBoss EAP.
Expertise in using Migration Toolkit for Applications (MTA) or similar tools.
Strong knowledge of namespace migration (javax to Jakarta) and JDK versions.
Proficient in performance tuning and load testing for JBoss applications.
Expertise in configuring JVM, OS, and network parameters.
Experience in troubleshooting JBoss JWS (JBoss Web Server).
Ability to provide architecture recommendations for subsystems like Elytron, Undertow, Datasources, and Messaging.
Strong scripting skills in shell scripting for automation and troubleshooting.

Pay: $5,000.00 - $7,000.00 per month
