KP Windows has an exciting career opportunity for a Red Seal Licensed Electrician for our facility located in Alexandria. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a strong work ethic and a high degree of autonomy. In a busy work environment, the ability to juggle multiple tasks and work under tight deadlines is a must
Shift: Monday to Friday, rotating shifts based on operational needs:
-
- Day : 7am-3pm
- Evening : 3pm-11pm (Evening Shift Premium of $0.75/hr)
- Attendance Bonus: $ 1/hr **
Job Status: Full time - Permanent
Salary with Red Seal: $43.80/hr

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Valid Red Seal Industrial Electrician Certification (442A) or Construction Electrician (309A) in Ontario.
  • Completion of all required apprenticeship hours or equivalent.
  • Millwright training and/or certification will be considered a strong asset.
  • Good Safety record and acceptable Discipline Record.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of electrical systems, PLC troubleshooting, motor control circuits, and automation in an industrial environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
  • Solid understanding of OHSA electrical safety standards, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and machine guarding.
  • Basic Mechanical and Pneumatic troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Skilled in diagnosing and repairing production equipment breakdowns with a focus on root cause identification.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide Apprentices in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills with a commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of plant machinery, production lines, and facility systems.
  • Filing and documentation of all essential reports not limited to electrical and mechanical, as assigned
  • Support mechanical troubleshooting, repairs, and on-the-job learning as directed by the supervisor
  • Perform audits of tools, electrical panels, 5S compliance, spare parts availability, and help prevent stockouts
  • Participate in electrical projects and continuous improvement initiatives across the department and plant
  • Install, maintain, and upgrade electrical wiring, equipment, and control systems in compliance with electrical codes and company standards.
  • Lead root cause analysis for recurring electrical issues and implement long-term solutions.
  • Support equipment installations, process improvements, and production line modifications.
  • Contribute to preventive and predictive maintenance programs, including creating and maintaining accurate maintenance records in the CMMS system.
  • Provide mentorship and on-the-job training to Apprentices, promoting safety, technical excellence, and teamwork.
  • Collaborate with Millwrights, Engineering, and Production teams to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimal downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety policies, actively participating in promoting a safety-first culture.
