Position Overview
We are seeking a Red Seal Certified Machinist with strong experience in CNC programming, specifically with Haas CNC equipment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to produce precision components according to engineering drawings, while ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Program CNC machines using Mastercam or similar CAM software
- Set up and operate Haas CNC machines
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings and blueprints
- Inspect finished parts using appropriate quality control tools and techniques
- Communicate tooling and material requirements
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Identify and report any mechanical issues with machines
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
Qualifications
- Red Seal Certification as a Machinist required
- Minimum 3–5 years of CNC machining experience
- Proficient in CNC programming, preferably using Mastercam
- Hands-on experience with Haas CNC equipment
- Strong understanding of machining processes and tool selection
- Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings
- Overhead crane experience considered an asset
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Preferred Assets
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working under tight production timelines
- Level 1–4 CNC Machinist Apprenticeship considered an asset
Compensation
- Hourly Wage: $35.00 – $45.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
