Windermere’s Redress Support Service provides a trauma informed response to victim survivors of institutional child sexual abuse. Our state-wide access point is a pathway to information, advice, an assessment of needs, and referral for ongoing Redress support and other services as required. Victim survivors may be referred for ongoing Redress support to the funded Redress Support Services across Victoria, or internally to Windermere Redress Support Workers according to capacity.
This position provides an enhanced intake response to consumers that have experienced institutional child sexual abuse. This includes making intake contact with assigned individual according to triage priorities (high priority within 48 hours). Providing psychological first aid and meet immediate needs, sometimes of first disclosure. Provide information and advice and complete a detailed initial needs assessment, that will inform the referral to external services for case support.
This position is perfectly suited for Intake and Social Workers with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in sexual assault or a trauma related program, preferably with adult victims of childhood abuse. We are seeking individuals truly passionate about supporting and responding to the complex and long-lasting effects of trauma on individuals from diverse backgrounds. Experts at recognizing and responding to the emotional needs of individuals, and ensuring they have access to appropriate support.
