The Reefer Operator role plays a vital role in managing and coordinating import accounts within the Reefer Department, with a primary focus on our biggest account, a large well-known supermarket. Our ideal candidate will have experience in Freight, specifically Ocean Imports processes, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to customer service and operational excellence. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Location: Grimsby, Manchester Hours: Monday – Friday Contract: Permanent -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- About the Role How you will contribute: * Coordinate and manage day-to-day operations for import reefer accounts. * Ensure all required milestones on Connect are completed on time. * Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain strong client relationships. * Complete customs entries accurately and efficiently. * Raise customer invoices and ensure purchase invoices are accrued and processed on time. * Monitor and report on customer performance, identifying changes in support or shipping trends. * Ensure compliance with SOPs and promote best practices across the department. * Act as a backup for team members when required. * Liaise with team leaders and escalate issues to the General Manager as needed. * Maintain accurate job filing and ensure timely responses to all correspondence. * Provide full handovers for planned absences or holidays. * Monitor profit and loss for assigned accounts and ensure business interests are upheld. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What you will bring Qualifications * GCSEs or equivalent. Experience * Experience in logistics or freight forwarding. * Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. * Understanding of customs processes and operational logistics.
