Description Summary: The Reference and Access Services Librarian will manage the daily operations of library services including circulation, reserves, and Interlibrary Loan. This role involves supervising approximately 20-25 student employees, managing the circulation desk, and providing customer service. This librarian will also work with the library team to provide reference and research services to the Keuka College community. Essential Responsibilities: Manage the Circulation Desk Opens the library Monday through Friday. Supervises circulation services, physical collection maintenance, and course reserves. Provides comprehensive access and collection services to the Keuka College community. Student Supervision Hires, trains, schedules, and supervises approximately 25 student workers. Interlibrary Loan Oversees resource sharing and document delivery services. Reference Provides research assistance to faculty and students. Assists with creating and maintaining the library’s LibGuide collection. Technical Services Performs preliminary cataloging of new materials. Assists with weeding the collection and identification of lost and missing items. Student Engagement and Success Serves as a liaison for student success initiatives at the Academic Success Center. Promotes library services and resources through outreach activities and promotional displays. Faculty and Community Engagement/Outreach Fosters a library presence at the faculty and local community levels. Other Responsible for ensuring that assigned tasks are completed in compliance with various institutional and regulatory requirements. Other duties as assigned by the Library Director. Requirements Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in library science from an ALA accredited program. Previous library experience in access services or related areas. Supervisory experience in library setting preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to troubleshoot problems and implement solutions independently and as part of a team. Ability to analyze and interpret information and implement effective solutions. Ability to pay attention to detail and follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and maintain accurate records Ability to be sensitive to and respond to the needs and concerns of all constituents of the College including but not limited to students, faculty, college staff and the public. Ability to work under pressure with a high tolerance for interruptions, and the ability to work with diverse groups of people with high degree of professionalism. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
