Description Job Description Job Title: Referral Coordinator Location: Landis Lakes office -Remote Reports To: Sr. Revenue Cycle manager Department: Biling Travel Required: No Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: ? Review Patients’ insurance coverage for real-time eligibility screening, assessment of patients’ financial requirements, and counseling patients on their insurance benefits and copayments ? Ensure all insurance, demographic, eligibility, and signature information is documented in the patient’s account ? Re-verify benefits ? Serve as a liaison between the patient and Family Allergy & Asthma Education, Prior Work Experience, Special Skill and Knowledge Requirements: ? High School Diploma or GED, required ? 3-year medical billing office experience, required ? Basic computer skills ? Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment ? Strong analytical and problem-solving skills ? Understanding of deductibles, copays, coinsurance, etc. ? Knowledge of insurance carrier guidelines, deductibles, copays, and coinsurance ? Knowledge of medical terminology and coding (ICD-10 and CPT) ? Availity clearinghouse experience preferred
Responsibilities
The coordinator reviews patient insurance coverage for real-time eligibility screening, assesses financial requirements, and counsels patients on their insurance benefits and copayments. This role also ensures all necessary insurance, demographic, eligibility, and signature information is accurately documented in the patient's account.
