Overview The Department of Otolaryngology at Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University is seeking a Referral Coordinator. The Referral Coordinator will be responsible for reviewing referrals and other necessary medical documentation to schedule patients within the appropriate timeframe and with the correct providers. Responsibilities Review and scan referrals making sure that patients are scheduled within a proper timeline. Calling and scheduling referrals. Gathering proper medical documentation need to schedule referrals appropriately. Assisting with front desk coverage and other job duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications and Skills: The ability to communicate with patient's, staff and outside providers to ensure patients receive timely responses. Customer service-oriented individual is required. Knowledge of authorization processes and eligibility for insurance is required. Preferred Qualifications: Must be knowledgeable of the various types of insurance carriers (ex. HMO, PPO). Familiarity with Medical Terminology, ICD-10, and CPT preferred. Medical applications software experience preferred. Location : Location US-VA-Norfolk
