SMART Pediatric Therapy is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Referral Coordinator to join our growing pediatric outpatient therapy clinic. This individual will play a key role in ensuring seamless coordination between physicians, families, and our therapy team.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience in medical office coordination, referral management, or insurance verification (pediatric or therapy clinic preferred).
• Familiarity with AHCCCS plans, commercial insurance, and EMR systems.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interactions with parents, doctors, and team members.
• Ability to multi-task, follow directions accurately, and work independently while supporting a team environment.

• Receive, track, and manage referrals from physicians and internal sources.
• Maintain accurate records in the referral master spreadsheet and clinic EMR system.
• Communicate promptly and professionally with parents, referring providers, and insurance companies.
• Verify insurance coverage, monitor and submit prior authorization requests, and ensure compliance with AHCCCS and commercial plans.
• Schedule evaluations efficiently and convert internal referrals into scheduled therapy services.
• Follow up with physician offices as needed to obtain documentation or referral renewals.
• Work closely with front office and clinical staff to support a smooth intake and evaluation process.
