Get to Know Your Team: UT Health East Texas is comprised of 10 hospitals, more than 90 clinics, nearly 7,500 employees and over 1,000 licensed inpatient beds. We provide healthcare services through our hospitals, clinics, Level 1 trauma facility, air emergency fleet and EMS service. Responsibilities Makes and schedules appointment for procedures and surgeries for patients in an efficient and timely manner. Verifies and pre-certifies insurance coverage for surgical procedures. Coordinates day surgeries within main surgery department. Maintain productivity logs for department director. Qualifications Job Requirements: High school diploma or GED. Computer experience (Excel/Word). Preferred Job Requirements: Two to Three years of work experience in a medical office. Knowledge of medical terminology and surgical scheduling.

Responsibilities

The coordinator is responsible for efficiently scheduling appointments for patient procedures and surgeries in a timely manner. This role also involves verifying and pre-certifying insurance coverage for surgical procedures and coordinating day surgeries within the main surgery department.
