EIHC is seeking a full-time Referral Specialist dedicated to serving the needs of our community. SCHEDULE Monday through Friday 8:00 AM TO 5:00 PM. COMPENSATION $19.76 to $32.76 hourly depending on experience. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Maintain up-to-date knowledge on insurance plans and prior authorization requirements. * Maintains active accounts to third party sites including but not limited to MCO’s and commercial insurance portals. * Collaborates with EIHC clinical providers and staff to collect any required information and paperwork for a referral. * Coordinates between relevant parties including but not limited to the patient, care givers, interpretive services, transportation, and healthcare providers. * Documents all actions taken to coordinate a referral in a timely manner. * Responsible for efficient and accurate scheduling patient referrals with external physicians. * Clearly communicates patient information and appointments to them in a clear and timely manner. * Is knowledgeable of specialty programs/physicians, as well as community resources.  EMR * Athena AMAZING BENEFITS * 4 Weeks of Paid Time Off * 8 Paid Holidays * 2 Floating Holidays * Health Insurance - Plan options start at $1.00 per pay period * Dental Insurance * Vision Insurance * Flexible Spending Accounts - Medical and Dependent Care * Health Savings Account * 100% employer paid Basic Life and Long-term Disability Insurance * Volunteer Life Insurance * Short-Term Disability Insurance * 401(K) (4% Employer Match and 100% Vested on Day 1) * Employee Clothing Allowance * Employee Assistance Program * Gym Membership Discount to the Midwest Athletic Club * Parental Leave REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS * High school diploma or equivalency. * Basic computer skills required. * One year work experience in a medical office setting preferred.
