Work alongside experienced professionals, gaining hands-on experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing refrigeration and air conditioning systems. This role offers a wide variety of projects, including residential installations, renovations, and commercial ventures, providing exposure to a diverse range of experiences in the field.

WITH THE SUPPORT OF QUALIFIED TRADESPEOPLE, YOU CAN EXPECT TO:

• Assisting in the installation of air conditioning and refrigeration units in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
• Supporting senior technicians in performing routine maintenance and servicing of cooling systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
• Helping troubleshoot and diagnose issues in air conditioning and refrigeration systems and making necessary repairs.
• Learning to read and interpret technical diagrams, manuals, and specifications to understand the components and functioning of different systems.
• Assisting in calibrating and adjusting control systems to maintain proper temperature and humidity levels.
• Learning to handle and work with refrigerants safely and in accordance with environmental regulations.
• Maintaining accurate records of work performed, including service reports, equipment inspections, and parts inventory.
  Please note that the specific duties may vary depending on the host company and the nature of the projects undertaken. As an apprentice, your main focus will be on learning and supporting experienced staff in their work while gradually gaining the skills and experience required to become a qualified Refrigeration and Air Conditioning tradesperson.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Have a genuine interest in refrigeration, air conditioning, and related systems is crucial
• Basic knowledge of mechanical concepts and an aptitude for technical work will be advantageous
• Have solid mathematics and problem-solving capabilities
• Strong attention to detail
• Be able to take direction and take the safety of yourself and your team members seriously
• Work well with others, be adaptable to change and open to learning from experienced professionals
• Great communication skills
• Be physically fit, you can expect to do physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and working in various environments
• Hold a valid driver’s license or be able to obtain one, as apprentices often travel to different job sites.
