Responsibilities

Reporting to the Port Site services Supervisor the Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Technician will undertake day-to-day preventative maintenance activities and breakdown repairs in a safe and efficient manner to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and reliability in our Port Substations, Shiploader Cabs, Rail workshops and site buildings Air-Conditioning systems such as VRVs, Split Systems, Package Units, Chillers, CRAC units, Ice Machines, Air Dryers.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Undertake preventative maintenance inspections of plant and equipment;
  • Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development;
  • Ensure adequate scoping of corrective work to facilitate the planning process;
  • Cultivate positive relationships through effective communication and consultation;
  • Take a proactive role in maintaining appropriate standards of behaviour;
  • Participate within the Site Services to implement business plans consistent with site strategies/ plans;
  • Monitor the Site Services work plan and elevate unplanned and non-routine activity or performance to the Supervisor;
  • Perform all aspects of planned, breakdown and shutdown activities in regard to Airconditioning systems maintenance;
  • Carry out system generated on and offline inspections
