Description We are seeking a skilled and motivated Refrigeration Installation Technician to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for installing, assembling, testing, and commissioning refrigeration systems in food transportation vehicles. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, experience with refrigeration or HVAC systems, and takes pride in delivering high-quality work that ensures food products are transported safely and efficiently. This role plays a critical part in supporting our mission of providing reliable, temperature-controlled transportation solutions to our customers. Requirements Key Responsibilities Install refrigeration units and associated components in food transportation vehicles according to engineering specifications and work instructions. Assemble and install electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration components including compressors, condensers, evaporators, controls, wiring, and mounting systems. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings. Perform system testing, startup, and functional verification to ensure proper operation. Diagnose and resolve installation issues related to refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical systems. Inspect completed installations to ensure compliance with quality standards, customer requirements, and safety regulations. Utilize hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively. Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to improve installation processes and product performance. Maintain accurate records of work performed, inspections, and testing results. Assist with troubleshooting and repair of refrigeration systems as needed. Follow all company safety policies, PPE requirements, and manufacturing procedures. Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical training in HVAC, refrigeration, electrical systems, automotive technology, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in refrigeration, HVAC installation, vehicle upfitting, manufacturing, or related mechanical trades preferred. Experience working with 12V, 24V, or commercial electrical systems preferred. Skills & Competencies Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Basic understanding of refrigeration principles and temperature control systems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation. Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. Dependable, safety-conscious, and results-oriented. Strong communication and organizational skills. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work in confined spaces for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to work with tools and equipment requiring manual dexterity. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and production conditions. Ability to safely use ladders, lifts, and other access equipment as required.
