Description Job Summary The Refrigeration Laborer supports the installation, maintenance, cleaning, and operation of industrial refrigeration systems. This role requires mechanical aptitude, comfort working at heights, and adherence to strict safety standards while working around ammonia and other industrial cleaning environments. Key Responsibilities Assist refrigeration technicians with installation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration systems Use hand tools and power tools, including wrenches, drills, and other mechanical equipment Operate and work on scissor lifts and other elevated work platforms Perform work at heights safely and efficiently Assist with cleaning refrigeration and mechanical equipment using pressure washers and approved cleaning supplies Work in wet environments as required Follow all safety procedures when working around ammonia and other hazardous materials Lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs Maintain a clean and organized work area Follow company safety policies, OSHA standards, and plant rules at all times Perform other related duties as assigned Requirements Qualifications Mechanically inclined with experience using hand and power tools Comfortable working at heights and on lifts Willingness and ability to work around ammonia with proper safety training and PPE Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly Ability to work in wet and industrial environments Strong attention to safety and detail Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Reliable attendance and punctuality Experience in refrigeration, industrial maintenance, or construction labor Prior experience operating scissor lifts or aerial lifts Knowledge of industrial safety practices Ammonia awareness or hazmat training (or willingness to obtain) Physical & Sensory Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, reach, and use hands and arms repetitively for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to up to 50 pounds Ability to work in wet, cold, or noisy environments common to produce packing facilities. Ability to visually inspect produce for quality defects. Ability to hear and respond to machinery sounds, alarms, and verbal instructions. Ability to perform repetitive motions throughout the shift. Ability to remain alert and focused for extended periods to ensure safe operation and compliance with safety regulations Work Environment The work environment is a fast-paced warehouse and produce packing facility that includes exposure to conveyor systems, automated machinery, wet floors, cold or refrigerated temperatures, noise, and repetitive motion tasks. Employees may work while standing for extended periods and in close proximity to moving equipment and other team members. Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to all safety procedures is required at all times.
