Discovery Center is currently seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to work on our 1st shift. Primary responsibilities will be taking care of the Refrigeration Operations and other freezers and coolers. This is a 5 day a week position with occasional weekends. Current days are Monday through Friday 7AM to 3:30 PM. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Previous experience in a maintenance mechanic position. Must have basic computer skills. Responsible for working with others in your department and outside vendors. Basic knowledge of PLC's preferred. Experience with Refrigeration, Electrical, Mechanical, Pneumatic, Welding, Motors. Must assist in the physical plant, equipment, building and grounds assuring they are maintained in a clean, neat and safe operating manner and are operating at peak efficiency. Must be able to assist with troubleshooting and repairing equipment. Must be ready to respond immediately to emergency situations. High level of analytical ability to find solutions to difficult technical problems. Trouble shoot components such as check valves, control valves, cylinders, pumps, filters etc.; Have knowledge of USDA & FDA’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) Must be familiar with all aspects of Safety like LOTO, Confined Spaces, Fall Protection, etc. Attendance background will be considered. Must be willing to work occasional weekends or other shifts if needed. Must have or be willing to obtain.an Arkansas State steam boiler license. The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodations.
