The Refrigeration/HVAC Technician, is responsible for providing installation, preventive maintenance, service, and repair on refrigeration and air conditioning equipment in a commercial and industrial setting while show casing exceptional customer service skills. This position is based in the Cranbrook/Kootenay region.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Red Seal Journeyman Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic Certification or 3rd to 4th Year ApprenticeWill consider a skilled and seasoned tradesperson from electrical, plumbing, and instrumentation disciplines interested in pursuing an HVAC ticket.
  • HVACR Journeyman with a second ticket (Plumbing, Electrical, Sheet metal, etc.) are an asset;
  • Experience in a commercial setting is required;
  • Available for rotating on call shifts;
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license with an acceptable 5 year driver’s abstract;
  • Valid safety certifications such as First Aid, WHMIS, TDG, CSTS, PSTS, Fall Protection, AWP, H2S Alive, Elevated Work Platform, Energy Safety Canada are considered an asset.

Responsibilities
  • Servicing new and existing accounts by analyzing work orders, investigating complaints, identifying solutions, conducting tests, and resolving problems;
  • Troubleshooting issues with all commercial and industrial HVAC / Refrigeration equipment;
  • Installing or retrofitting equipment as per specifications, customer requests, blueprints or the current building / plumbing codes;
  • Inspecting product quality and installation to ensure conformance and customer satisfaction;
  • Documenting service and installation actions by completing electronic forms, reports, logs, and records;
    Other required duties may be assigned that fall within the parameters of the primary responsibility of the position.
