DESCRIPTION

University Physicians’ Association is looking for a dedicated team member for our full-time Refund Coordinator position.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & TRAINING:

Requires High School education or equivalency; medical billing courses and college preferred.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  1. Medical billing office experience preferred.
  2. Advanced knowledge of computers, computer programs, office equipment, and business office procedures.
  3. Proficiency in written communication skills and using spoken word.
  4. Demonstrated knowledge of formal and informal department goals, standards, policies and procedures which may include some familiarity of other departments within the Central Billing Office.
  5. Demonstrated sensitivity to the interrelationship of both people and functions within the Central Billing Office.
  6. General understanding of Medical Payment Remittances from payers

Responsibilities
  1. Work as a team player, assume a positive attitude and act with integrity to attain company goals.
  2. Review and approve patient and insurance refund requests on a daily basis for multiple physician groups and maintain associated spreadsheets.
  3. Coordinate recoupments for certain insurance groups.
  4. Review and work unapplied credits in insurance and guarantor statuses for multiple physician groups.
  5. Post refund checks into our Revenue Cycle Management System (Intergy).
