Here at Pembrokeshire we are proud to have been named the top performing Local Authority for recycling in Wales for the last three years and we are looking for new Refuse and Recycling Loaders and Drivers to join our innovative recording breaking Waste and Recycling service.
We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team. A rewarding and physically demanding manual role, that will definitely keep you fit. Delivering and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction across all services, you will ensure that all refuse and recyclable materials are collected from households and businesses on the rounds across Pembrokeshire, sorting, separating and bulking of any material appropriately. You will ensure safe lifting and working practices are used, as well as using appropriate personal protective clothing is worn at all times.
You will be actively supporting PCC to achieve its core objective to be one of the top recycling Authority’s in Wales, a greener and cleaner Pembrokeshire. Also support our ambitions surrounding continuous service improvement for an efficient and effective service whilst meeting Welsh Government’s targets and legislation.

Responsibilities

Refuse and Recycling Loader/Relief Driver.
Refuse and Recycling Loader.
Applications for full-time, part-time or casual hours will be considered.

Requirements of the role.

  • A valid driving licence with HGV is essential for driver roles.
  • Must be physically fit, able to move bags, boxes and wheeled bins for the working day and walk for a number of miles a day in an outdoor environment.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team/crew and to use own initiative.
  • High degree of awareness in respect of personal health and safety in relation to manual handling and the dangers associated with working continuously in close proximity to the highway.
  • Good customer service skills, working in a public facing role engaging with customers.
  • Requirement to be literate and numerate in order to accept work instructions and complete necessary work documentation and ability to use IT systems.
  • There will be opportunities for overtime and a requirement to work bank holidays and weekends over the Christmas/ New year period.
