EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Experience:
* Degree in a related healthcare discipline
* Minimum 5 years of healthcare experience, ideally in an acute care hospital environment
* Minimum 3 years healthcare experience working with all groups within the cardiovascular population (i.e.
cardiology, cardiac surgery, vascular surgery)
* Unencumbered registration with the applicable regulatory body
Skills/Abilities:
* Strong communication skills both oral and written
* Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence to interact effectively with staff, patients, family supports and
community partners
* Ability to work effectively individually and within a team setting
* High level of self‑initiative and direction
* Proficient in the use of computer applications (i.e. Meditech, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Smartsheet).
* Commitment to the principles of Patient & Family Centred Care
* Demonstrated commitment to professional practice and contribution to professional workplace/environment
* Collaborative approach to solutions
* Leadership skills to support, coach, direct, mentor and teach activities to clinical staff and to promote positive staff
relations
* Utilizes an extensive knowledge base and experience to support staff in decision‑making and applying knowledge
into practice to promote clinical confidence.
* Must be able to balance multiple demands, prioritize activities to meet simultaneous deadlines
* Knowledge and understanding of the Cardiovascular Surgery project and the partnership with the Peter Munk
Cardiac Centre.
* Demonstrates expert knowledge and synthesis of cardiovascular disease, specifically cardiovascular surgery (i.e.
coronary artery bypass grafting, valve surgery, etc.).
* Knowledge of cardiovascular health care delivery in the Northwest region.
* Knowledge of local, regional, provincial, & federal issues impacting regional communities.
* Acts as a clinical expert/resource/consultant to allied health professionals to establish, maintain and improve
cardiovascular patient care delivery the region.
* Utilizes various approaches and tools to evaluate community needs, patient care and program delivery.
* Developed new regional referral pathways and strengthen any existing pathways to optimize patient referral
processes ensuring seamless coordination between sites.

Salary Range: $45.351 to 53.354
