The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) functions in a multi-faceted role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence in the practice of respiratory care. The RRT is responsible for the respiratory assessment, therapeutic treatment, evaluation, testing, education, and communication for all patient populations served. The RRT will coordinate care with interdisciplinary team to promote a great patient experience. The RRT is responsible for maintaining compliance with the Ohio Respiratory Care Laws, applicable regulatory standards, and institutional and system policies. Education Minimum Level of Education Required: Associate degree Additional requirements: § Type of degree: Applied Science or Equivalent § Area of study or major: Respiratory Care or NBRC approved registry requirements § Preferred educational qualifications: Bachelor’s degree § Position specific testing requirement: N/A Licensure/Certification/Registration § Valid Ohio Respiratory Care License, Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist Credential through NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care), BLS, ACLS within 90 days. § PALS and/or NRP certification required within 6 months of hire or based upon course availability per facility requirements.
