Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Regional Vice President of Land. The right candidate is responsible for implementing and maintaining land processes and ensuring consistency across division land teams. Assist divisions with alignment of acquisition teams by sub-market and manage deal assignments throughout the region. Work closely with all division land personnel to maintain coordination and compliance with region requirements for organization, prospect tracking, due diligence, and land development maintenance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Assist divisions in aligning land acquisition teams by sub-market Work closely with division land acquisition analysts and coordinators to ensure full support is provided to land acquisition teams Ensure all divisions within the region have a uniform process for managing and maintaining the OOE, NOS, and amendment process, due diligence, and study period timelines Meet or exceed the target goal of 90%25/10%25 (option/finished vs. self-development) Serve as the main point of contact for executive management for all topics related to land Facilitate division matters and processes through the region team Manage deal assignments throughout the region Assist divisions with the assignment process through model and offering package creation Assist the region legal team in growing and developing outside counsel representation Responsible for high-level deal approval before region president approval Verify that each division utilizes a reliable process for tracking prospects Develop and implement standardized files for organizing and tracking land development budgets, bond management, and prospects Build strong relationships with division departments such as Sales, Marketing, Construction, and Finance Communicate critical dates and information to region and division management timely Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company Ability to travel overnight Supervisory Responsibilities May have supervisory responsibilities Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Real Estate, Planning, Government Relations or related field from a four-year college or university Seven to ten years land acquisition experience Must have a vehicle and a valid driver’s license Experience in contract negotiation Strong verbal & written communication skills Experience working in a team environment Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications Proficiency with MS Office and email Ability to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
