JOB BRIEF The Regional Account Manager (RAM) is a technical sales role focused on driving organic new business growth and expanding existing accounts within designated territories or named accounts. Reporting to the Business Unit VP of the Eastern Region with dotted-line accountability to the Southeast Regional Sales Manager, the RAM will focus on Embedded Computing hardware and software solutions with an emphasis on open architecture computing platforms. This role involves direct and indirect account development, prospecting, opportunity qualification, and order closure, while leveraging upselling opportunities within existing accounts. The RAM will also engage with partners, distributors, and system integrators to generate new business and expand market reach. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of embedded hardware and software, consultative solution selling, and a proactive approach to prospecting through cold calling, trade shows, industry networking, and channel relationships. The role requires a mix of inside and outside sales skills, familiarity with CRMs, and some travel. ROLE OBJECTIVE The objective of the RAM role is to drive revenue growth through organic new business and strategic account expansion within Embedded Computing and open architecture computing markets. The RAM will identify, qualify, and develop high-value opportunities, both directly and through channel partners, while managing the full sales cycle from prospecting to order closure. Success requires leveraging technical expertise to engage engineering, R&D, and executive stakeholders, delivering consultative, tailored solutions that meet customer needs, and maintaining strong relationships with internal teams and external partners. Over 50% of new business opportunities should be self-generated, demonstrating initiative, creativity, and deep knowledge of embedded computing platforms, open architecture systems, and OEM customer requirements. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Develop a strong understanding of the industries and markets within the assigned region. Collaborate with the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) to target and penetrate new accounts. Serve as the primary contact for prospect qualification and opportunity development. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, channel partners, and resellers. Identify opportunities to upsell and expand business within existing accounts. Assist the RSM in aligning Axiomtek products and services to customer needs. Clearly communicate the features, benefits, and value of products and solutions to customers. Support trade shows, industry events, and marketing initiatives. Leverage Axiomtek-approved distribution and reseller channels to generate new business. Conduct proactive outbound prospecting, including cold calls, networking, and account research, understanding key decision-makers and buying influences. Maintain accurate and timely sales forecasting. Stay technically proficient with the full Axiomtek product line. Ensure adherence to the company’s Quality Management System. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES: Strong background in Embedded Computing hardware and software, with emphasis on open architecture computing platforms. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant technical experience. Knowledge of key bus architectures including PCI, PCIe, ISA, PICMG, and related embedded form factors. Familiarity with processor platforms such as Intel x86, AMD, VIA, and RISC architectures, along with network interfaces, flat panels, system integration, and industrial computer packaging. Working knowledge of embedded and industrial Operating Systems. Experience selling or supporting Embedded and Industrial PC (IPC) solutions within OEM environments, including long design-in sales cycles. Industry knowledge in vertical markets such as Transportation, Automation, Medical, Gaming, or Digital Signage Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant technical experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical solutions to engineering teams, executives, and customers. Proficiency in Salesforce (or CRM systems), Microsoft Office Suite, and general business systems (SAP a plus).
