Reporting to the Group Accountant, a unique opportunity exists for a dynamic and talented individual to fill the role of Regional Accountant as part of the Corporate Services Division.

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial and Tax Accountant to join our team on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the company’s tax and statutory compliance as well as month-end reporting and reconciliations. This role requires a deep understanding of South African tax laws and regulations, International Financial Reporting Standard for Small and Medium-sized Entities (IFRS for SME) as well as the ability to provide strategic tax and accounting advice to support business decisions.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Professional certification as a Tax Practitioner (SA) and Chartered/ Professional Accountant (SAIPA or SAICA).

• Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and tax related roles.

• Proven experience in preparing and filing various tax returns.

• Experience in handling tax audits and disputes.

• Strong knowledge of South African tax laws and regulations as well as International Financial Reporting Standards.

• Financial Reporting:

• End of Month reporting – Maintain and reconcile General Ledger accounts.

• Prepare disclosures to ensure compliance with IFRS and other Accounting Standards.
• Assist External Accountant with Independent Review and preparation of Annual Financial Statements.

• Prepare income tax provisions and deferred tax calculations.

• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information.

• Tax Compliance:

• Prepare and file Income Tax returns, Provisional Tax returns, VAT returns, Dividend Tax returns, and other statutory tax filings.

• Ensure compliance with all South African Revenue Service (SARS) regulations.
