Description
PURPOSE The Regional Accounting Specialist position is to support the initiatives of Central Valley Ag by assisting and reviewing their region in agronomy inventory and billing transactions   as well as training and assisting employees within their region as needed.     ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Inventory Variances – Review inventory variance reports and request information on variances.  Formulate and track regional variances to report to Location Managers, Regional Operations Manager, VP’s of Operations, and Agronomy Controller. * Monitor location accounting activity - Review billing to ensure timely and accurate in reviewing sales activity report or Agronomy Controller’s detailed billing report provided.  Monitor to ensure timely and accurate receipts of products and internal transfers.  * Support CSS’s by answering questions, providing them with regular communications on new processes and programs as well as general coop information.   Monitor progress and report to Location Manager(s) and Regional Operations Manager(s) of inconsistencies in receiving and grading inventory, billing or product.   * Assist Location Manager(s) with CSS training needs when new CSS’s start at CVA, utilize LMS “Learning Management System” when appropriate, cross train CSS’s for coverage, schedule appointments for one-on-one training as time permits and coordinate pre-agronomy season with the Region(s) CSS’s and the BSS team.   * Monitors CFA program to ensure invoices are following guidelines.  * Prepays – Monitoring prepays, making corrections, closing prepays, communicating issues with prepays, changing program types when approved and reconciling prepays for customers. * Cash Drawer – Daily cash drawer reconciliation for all locations within your Region(s).  * Monitor restricted use and customer applicator licenses for assigned region to ensure compliance.  * Visit each location at a minimum of once a month, working with CSS and Location Manager on any training or procedures requested.   * Fiscal year end – Follow up on orders on hold, clean up all prepays, Power BI missing unit numbers and applicators, clear out negative inventory, aerial reconciliation, update pesticide licenses for customers, review GCO for uncompleted and unbilled workorders and transport loads. * Analyzes complaints from customers and work with the CSS to research and provide a timely solution that meets the customers’ needs.   * Assists with collecting information and training in mergers and acquisitions within applicable Region(s). * Merchant Ag – Assist Business Support team with testing new releases and report results to the team leads.   * Other duties as required.   SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES None.   REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE * Associate degree in Accounting/Finance or two to four years of related experience. * Ability to multi-task several assignments simultaneously and establish job priorities.  * Employ fundamental accounting skills: general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and account reconciliations.   * To consistently meet internal and external deadlines.   * Strong competencies in computer applications including Microsoft products. * Must exhibit the ability to work in a collaborative and team environment. * Follows through with commitments and can be counted on to meet deadlines. * Always maintain a positive attitude. * Actively look for ways to help customers.  * Completes work in a timely manner with a high level of accuracy. * Works in a way that demonstrates safety is a priority.   Promotes a work environment that is safe for everyone.  * We value the highest ethical standard-our word is our bond. * Ability to communicate in a professional manner and establish effective working relationships with internal operations and external customers.     Central Valley Ag Central Valley Ag is a farmer-owned cooperative headquartered in York, Neb.
