PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO THE CRITICALITY OF THIS ROLE TO OUR ORGANISATION, WE WILL MOVE AT A PACE THROUGH OUR RECRUITMENT PROCESS. INTERESTED CANDIDATES ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY ASAP. THE ROLE WILL CLOSE WHEN AN OFFER IS ACCEPTED BY A SUITABLE CANDIDATE.

This is an Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander identified position which is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised under section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
The Aboriginal Legal Service (ALS) was established in a critical act of self-determination over 50 years ago as part of the Aboriginal rights protest movement. We provide high-quality, culturally safe legal and support services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people throughout NSW and the ACT, and fight for social justice and equity for our communities.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

In this role, you will be an integral and valued member of a highly skilled and high-performing Care & Protection/Family Law Practice. The Regional Administration Coordinator provides high-level administrative and management support to the Principal Solicitor to ensure effective delivery of culturally appropriate family law services. The role also oversees and supports staff, manages daily operations, and leads the implementation of systems and procedures across statewide offices. You will:

  • Supervise and support staff, including Administrators, Field Officers, and Paralegals, through training, performance management, and timesheet approvals.
  • Provide high-level administrative support to the Principal and Managing Solicitors, ensuring efficient operations and legal documentation handling.
  • Lead implementation of systems and procedures, ensuring compliance with ALS policies and effective record management.
  • Oversee ALS resources and assets, including vehicle and office equipment maintenance, and liaise with external service providers.
  • Coordinate volunteers and PLT students, managing their involvement and contributions across the practice.
  • Ensure compliance with ALS policies, WHS legislation, and contribute to collaborative workplace initiatives and service delivery improvement.
