ABOUT US

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service is a not-for-profit organisation providing world class aeromedical, search and rescue services to those in need 24/7. The Service has 50 years of proud history, and operates from three bases in NSW (Tamworth, Belmont, Lismore) in addition to a Head Office and Deep Level Maintenance (DLM) facility based in Broadmeadow NSW. With a clear vision for our future – to be Australia’s leading Aeromedical and Rescue Service provider, we know the key to success is a motivated, trained, and empowered team operating within a culture of professionalism and accountability.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The purpose of the Regional Advisory Committee is to advise and assist the Board and Senior Leadership Team of the Service on matters relevant to the local region. The Committees help to ensure the Service’s strategic direction and partnerships continue to serve the community’s best interests. Committee members work in a voluntary/unpaid capacity.
Each Regional Advisory Committee has up to 9 members, including its Chair and ensures strong local governance and advice on matters such as community partnerships and fundraising. Each Committee is expected to play a key role in the future of the Service.
Based on the current membership profile, we are seeking applicants who reside within the Hunter Valley, Newcastle, Port Stephens or Maitland regions, while those with experience within the heavy industry, mining, hospitality or retail industries will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities
  • Attend and participate in Regional Advisory Committee meetings (usually held no more than 4 to 5 times a year).
  • Provide advice and insights to the Service on matters affecting the community.
  • Provide feedback and insights to the Service on initiatives to improve community engagement and support.
  • Act in a manner that is consistent with the Service’s Board Constitution, Strategy and Values.
