Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Regional Clinical Resource Educator to join the Physiotherapy Professional Practice team in Vancouver, BC. Apply today to join our team!

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Five (5) years’ recent, related physical therapy experience in the designated practice area.
  • Completion of a professional instructional program for teaching.
  • Experience as an advanced practitioner and/or clinical instructor in interventions related to the designated populations, creating educational materials, implementing education strategies, utilizing knowledge translation abilities, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Master’s Degree in Education preferred but not required.
  • Current full registration as a Physical Therapist with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC).
  • Suggested membership with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
  • Valid BC Driver’s License and access to a vehicle, as travel within the VCH geographic area may be required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Physical therapy theory, and practice within a client and family centred model.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of evidence-based Physical therapy practice related to specialty clinical area.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the standards and guidelines established by the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC and the Canadian PT Association.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of legislation as pertaining to Physical therapy practice
  • Comprehensive knowledge of applicable VCH clinical practice guidelines, policies, procedures, and standards of care.
  • General knowledge of Trauma Informed Practice and Harm Reduction approaches and Strengths-based care.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote Indigenous Cultural Safety and to provide competent and culturally safe care in a variety of settings and with diverse populations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of teaching/guiding/coaching approaches and strategies to include tele-health and on-line mediums.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of adult education principles, methods, and tools.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of other health care disciplines and their role in client care.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of knowledge translation process and methodology.
  • Demonstrated ability in evidence-based practices and ability to demonstrate, teach, consult, orient and/or train both one-on-one and in groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with (both verbally and in writing), and to deal effectively with co-workers, physicians, other health care professionals, clients and their families, and external agencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to function as an effective team member, mentor, coach, and facilitator.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and prioritize work, and to adjust to new or unanticipated events.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop project plans and implement new projects.
  • Demonstrated skill and ability to operate related equipment and techniques appropriate to clinical areas.
  • Demonstrated physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Computer literacy to lead technology-based practice education and support.
