This role will have full accountability for country-level performance, including commercial growth, operations, partnerships, and P&L ownership. The Country Manager will be responsible for establishing and scaling our presence in Guinea, driving revenue growth, building strategic relationships with enterprise level organisations, development stakeholders, and representing the company in high-level negotiations. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong local market insight, execution capability, and the ability to operate effectively in complex, emerging-market environments. Key Responsibilities Lead and scale the company’s operations in Guinea, with full accountability for commercial performance, operational excellence, and profitability. Drive revenue growth by building and delivering a robust pipeline of qualified, revenue-generating opportunities across public and private sector clients. Develop and execute the country strategy, aligned with global objectives and adapted to local market realities, regulatory frameworks, and customer needs. Leverage a strong local and regional network to establish strategic partnerships with government ministries, state-owned enterprises, multinational corporations, donors, and development institutions. Own the country P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and revenue target achievement. Represent the company in high-level negotiations with government officials, enterprise clients, investors, and strategic partners. Oversee go-to-market execution, including pricing strategies, commercial structuring, proposals, and contract negotiations. Provide executive oversight of key projects and client engagements, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery and high-quality outcomes. Build, lead, and develop a high-performing local team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and entrepreneurial ownership. Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and governance requirements, proactively managing regulatory and operational risks. Monitor market trends, political and regulatory developments, and competitive dynamics to inform strategic decision-making. Act as the primary liaison between the Guinea operation and global leadership, ensuring clear communication, alignment, and reporting. Required Qualifications & Experience The ideal candidate brings a proven track record of general management, business development, and stakeholder engagement in West Africa (or comparable frontier markets), with deep experience navigating regulatory, political, and commercial dynamics. 10+ years of senior leadership experience, including general management, country leadership, or business unit leadership roles, ideally in consultancy, technology, infrastructure, energy, telecoms, or development-related sectors. Demonstrated experience building and scaling operations in Guinea, West Africa, or similar emerging/frontier markets. Strong understanding of the local regulatory, political, and commercial environment in Guinea. Proven track record of securing and growing strategic accounts with government entities, SOEs, enterprise clients, or donor-funded programmes. Demonstrated success in negotiating and closing complex, high-value commercial or public-sector contracts. Direct P&L ownership experience, with accountability for revenue growth, cost management, and profitability. Proven ability to design and execute commercial strategies, including GTM models, pricing, partnerships, and customer segmentation in challenging markets. Strong network of senior decision-makers across government, enterprise, development partners, and local business ecosystems in Guinea or the wider region. Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage credibly at ministerial, C-suite, and board level. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Technology, or a related field (MBA or equivalent preferred). Fluency in English, Arabic and French is essential, proficiency in local languages is a strong advantage. Willingness to be based in Guinea and operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
