Work Shift: Day (United States of America) Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Union Position: No Department Details - 50% travel in Northwest Iowa Summary Plans, directs and coordinates activities of nutrition services. Coordinates activities of medical nutrition therapy staff. Provides leadership, guidance and acts as a resource through consultation with associates and community agencies. Job Description Assist with interviewing, hiring, counseling, disciplining, and performance management. Will coordinate education and training of subordinates and dietetic students. Will be expected to manage clinical performance improvement programs and assist with all projects and documentation required to meet organizational regulatory agencies and their guidelines. In clinical role, may work with all ages of clients. Coordinate, plan, and participate in community activities regarding medical nutrition therapy according to quality standards. Optimization of nutritional status by providing medical nutrition therapy to clients/patients/residents with nutrition risk. This includes determination of nutritional status through nutritional assessment, individualized care plans, provider order recommendations and implementation of nutrition therapy (including verbal orders, diet modification, nutrition support, oral nutrition supplements), education and counseling for disease and nutrition risk management, and evaluation of outcomes of medical nutrition therapy interventions. Additionally, includes: optimization of self-management education and skills in the care of clients/patients/residents with chronic conditions. Awareness and consciousness of individual's insurance coverage and reimbursement circumstances, and participate in clinical performance improvement activities, including research that tests new treatments or procedures for clinical evidence of outcomes. Ability to recognize, evaluates, and provide for nutritional needs based on cultural, ethnic, and religious beliefs. Ability to assess and apply client/patient/resident care protocols relating to all ages as required. Must demonstrate and maintain clinical nutrition expertise. Qualifications Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in dietetics or food and nutrition through an Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) accredited program. Must have minimum of five years of dietetic experience. Successfully completed post graduate internship. Two years of leadership experience preferred. Currently holds Registered Dietitian (RD) license within the applicable state(s) and registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
