The Regional Director leads strategic planning for their assigned area, oversees operations across multiple branches to ensure efficiency, regulatory compliance, and superior member service, and manages Regional Managers to achieve business development, sales, and service goals. Additionally, this role focuses on identifying and developing talent to exceed performance expectations and cultivate future leaders. The Regional Director plays a critical role in driving organizational success and making a meaningful impact on both branch teams and the communities we serve. Major Duties and Responsibilities Develops strategies for continued growth, profitability, and efficiency. Manages branch development efforts to retain and increase membership at all locations. Keep informed of changes in the industry and changing trends and react to changes in a way that maintains competitiveness. Assumes responsibility for ensuring that professional business relations are established and maintained with members and the community. Additionally, the Regional Director helps to ensure the success of new locations within their region and shapes the future of the team assigned to new locations. Provides leadership to Regional Manager, Branch Community Engagement Managers, Branch Managers and branch team through effective goal setting, delegation, and communication. Identifies and develops employees to optimal performance, fosters career advancement opportunities, and develops future leaders within the Credit Union. Through subordinate management and team, assures adequate controls of credit union assets including cash and negotiable instruments as well as adherence to all teller and branch operations procedures and manuals. Exercises judgment in instances where little precedence exists for the purpose of safeguarding assets. Accountable for establishing and executing sales goals and strategies, along with assessing performance against set goals. Coaching to service promises and standards in order to ensure member satisfaction and loyalty. Ensures optimal performance of all assigned branches. Partners across departments along with the Regional Manager to advocate for team and member needs, identify resources, and implement strategies that enhance branch retail productivity and drive credit union improvements. Builds meaningful community partnerships that align with the credit union’s mission and objectives, seeks local Board and committee roles to foster relationships and market growth, and provides after-hours and weekend support to strengthen team and community engagement. Ensures that branch operations are completed in accordance with established Credit Union and regulatory procedures. Ensures that the Credit Union’s quality reputation is maintained and projected. Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Additionally, all employees must follow policies and procedures to minimize risk by exercising judgment, raising questions to management, and adhering to policy guidelines. Provides direction to ensure clear understanding of policies, procedures, requirements, and expectations. Ensure audit deficiencies are corrected. Requirements Experience Eight years to 10 years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience. Education/Certifications/Licenses A college degree. Interpersonal Skills A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance. Typically includes subject matter experts as well as first level to middle managers. Physical Requirements Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 5 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must by capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Working Conditions Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise. Ability to travel locally up to 60% and travel between regionals occasionally. Mental and/or Emotional Requirements Must be able to perform job functions with supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations with extreme accuracy. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines/requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on confidential matters.
