JOB SUMMARY:
The Southwest Healthcare Regional office in Temecula, CA is seeking a Regional Director of Finance who will collaborate with the finance staff at multiple facilities across the region. This individual is responsible for supporting the Regional Chief Finance Officer (CFO) with financial analytics, budgets, accounting audit functions, CARPACs, CAMS and other special projects. Duties include but not limited to:
- Supervises the DSS and Financial Analytics aspect of the CA Region Finance team.
- Assists in the preparation and timely filing of federal, state, healthcare association, third party and other financial reports as required.
- Develops, implements and maintains all financial reports for the California Region, as directed.
- Monitors daily revenue analysis, as needed.
- Assists in the compiling and preparation of the Region’s budget and analysis.
- Assists in the coordination of all accounting audit functions, as needed.
- Assists with oversight, training, and various projects for the CA Region IPM and Managed Care functions as directed.
- Participates in Corporate Task Forces as directed.
- Assists and coordinates special projects for all financial areas, as needed.
- Ensures employees possess competency in use of technology and computers.
- Ensures staff’s compliance with policy and procedures.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION/TRAINING/ EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited College or University in related field required.
- Master’s degree from an accredited College or University in related field preferred.
- Eight (8) to Ten (10) years of experience in Finance required.
- Minimum three (3) years leadership experience Finance required, acute care experience preferred.
- Multi-site experience required.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with The Joint Commission and Title 22 standards and guidelines.
- Demonstrates compliance with Healthcare policies and procedures at all times.
- Ability to set priorities and appropriately organize workload and complete assignments in a timely manner.
- Demonstrates ability to relate to clinical personnel and medical staff, as well as ability to interact well with the public.
- Must have knowledge of PC and applications.
- Knowledge of Accounting Policies/Practice of the CA Region and Corporate and compliance with all deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to develop various tools to help monitor and assess operational performance.
- Stays informed of current developments in Accounting, including, state statutes, contracts, timely filing requirements, etc.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of the process and identifies contractuals/reserves/expenses that need to be accrued at month end.
- Demonstrates an understanding of accounting records - their use and retention.
- Travel: 10%.
