Providence Life Services with Skilled Nursing, Memory Care, Assisted and Independent Living Communities, located in St. John, IN, Elmhurst and Homer Glen, IL, and Zeeland, MI, is seeking a Regional Director of Nursing, Full time. Must be willing to travel to Michigan, Illinois and Indiana.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the nursing service department, as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.
  • Educate Directors of Nursing on Regulatory changes as they apply to state and federal regulations as well as Joint Commission standards.
  • Develop, maintain, and periodically update written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the nursing service department.
  • Maintain a reference library of written nursing material (i.e., PDR’S, Federal and State Regulations, etc.) that will assist the nursing service department in meeting the day-to-day needs of the resident.
  • Develop, maintain, and periodically update the Nursing Service Procedures Manual and nursing service objectives and philosophies.
  • Assist communities in Quality Assessment and Assurance, as well as improving Quality Measures in Skilled Nursing.
  • Assist the Pharmacy in developing, maintaining, implementing, and periodically updating written policies and procedures for the administration, storage, and control of medications and supplies.
  • Evaluate and implement recommendations from established committees as they may pertain to nursing services.
  • Audit Medical Records as they pertain to Nursing Services to ensure compliance with nursing standards and regulations.
  • Attend and participate in continuing educational programs designed to keep you abreast of changes in your profession, as well as to maintain your license on active status.
  • Functions as the corporate resource for Infection Control, this includes educating DONs on infection control regulation changes.

Requirements:

  • Must be a Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan or able to obtain licensure.
  • Must have experience as a Director of Nursing in a Skilled Nursing Community.
  • Certification in Infection Prevention.
  • Previous experience in hospital or long term and post-acute care for 3-5 years; and ICU experience is a plus.
  • BSN or MSN degree preferred.
  • Must pass a physical, drug screen, 50-pound lift test, fingerprint for criminal background and successfully complete reference check.
