The Regional Director, Patient Services & Reimbursement will lead a regional team of Patient Access Liaisons (PALs) responsible for supporting patients and healthcare providers in navigating access, affordability, initiation of therapy, and adherence. This is a field-based, player/coach leadership role requiring both hands-on execution and regional oversight. This role is critical to launch readiness and ongoing commercial success. Key Responsibilities Field Leadership & Execution Recruit, onboard, and lead a high-performing regional team of Patient Access Liaisons (PALs), setting clear expectations for performance, quality, and patient-first execution Serve as a player/coach by directly managing a designated key account or territory, modeling best practices in patient access execution, HCP engagement, and escalation management Drive accountability against key performance indicators (KPIs) including time-to-therapy, access resolution, patient experience, and adherence support Foster a culture of urgency, ownership, and disciplined execution in a fast-moving launch environment HCP & Office Staff Engagement Oversee and coach PAL engagement with HCP offices, clinics, and hospitals to educate on prior authorization requirements, payer policies, and patient support services Ensure timely and effective resolution of access barriers through coordination with Case Management, specialty pharmacy partners, market access, and internal stakeholders Support HCP offices through benefits verification, PA submission, appeals, and renewal processes to minimize delays in patient care Patient Support Oversight Ensure high-touch, compliant engagement with patients and caregivers regarding insurance coverage, out-of-pocket costs, affordability options, and therapy access Reinforce accurate and appropriate use of copay assistance, bridge programs, and foundation support Lead resolution of complex patient access and affordability challenges, providing hands-on problem-solving support and coaching to PALs through high-impact or escalated cases. Cross-Functional Collaboration Provide field-based insights on patient challenges, payer dynamics, and provider feedback to inform program optimization Partner closely with Commercial Operations, Physician Engagement, Compliance, Legal, and specialty pharmacy partners to ensure aligned execution Support launch readiness by ensuring PALs are trained, compliant, and prepared to operate independently on day one Operational Excellence Monitor regional performance metrics and trends; proactively address gaps in execution or capability Leverage CRM and analytics tools to track field activity, outcomes, and access barriers Ensure all field activities comply with HIPAA, OIG guidance, and applicable pharmaceutical industry standards Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required 8–12+ years of experience in patient access, reimbursement, patient services, or related field-based roles, including experience in rare disease, ultra-specialty, or similarly complex therapeutic areas Prior experience leading and developing field teams Ideal Candidate Profile Deep, hands-on experience navigating prior authorization, appeals, specialty pharmacy workflows, and affordability programs Proven ability to work effectively with healthcare providers, patients, caregivers, and patient organizations Experience supporting launch or early commercial phases in rare diseases or other highly complex reimbursement environments Demonstrated player/coach leadership style—comfortable rolling up sleeves while setting direction and developing others Strong judgment, executive presence, and comfort operating autonomously in a lean, fast-moving organization Patient-first mindset with a high bar for quality, empathy, compliance, and ethical decision making Preferred locations: Atlanta, Miami, Orlando, Tampa, Columbia, Charlotte, Raleigh/Durham.
