Iron Road Logistics is seeking a dependable, safety-first Regional Equipment Transport Operator, to transport equipment efficiently and professionally to customer and company locations across the Mid-Atlantic region. The operator will be responsible for handling equipment such as skid steers, mini excavators, tractors, lifts, and attachments, using flatbeds, lowboys, and equipment trailers. Operators in this role are expected to be comfortable working around machinery, securing loads with chains and binders, and interacting professionally with customers on-site. This role requires strong attention to detail, clear communication, and a commitment to safe driving practices. Operators are a key point of contact for customers and internal teams and play an important role in the overall customer experience.   Essential Duties & Responsibilities * Safely operating flatbeds, lowboys, and equipment trailers * Loading, unloading, and securing equipment including skid steers, mini excavators, tractors, lifts, and attachments * Planning routes and managing time effectively for regional runs with occasional overnight stays * Maintaining flexibility to support early morning starts, extended days, and weekend moves when required * Conducting pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections in compliance with DOT regulations * Ensuring proper load securement in accordance with FMCSA standards * Communicating clearly with dispatch, customers, and internal teams * Representing the company professionally at customer sites, auctions, and job locations * Perform other duties as assigned. Educational & Experience Requirements * Valid commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record. * Strong knowledge of DOT and applicable truck driving regulations. * Commitment to safety and responsible driving practices. * Ability to communicate professionally with customers and internal teams. Preferred Qualifications * DOT Medical Card preferred. * CDL Class A (will consider strong non-CDL candidates with equipment experience where applicable) * Experience hauling construction or agricultural equipment preferred * Strong understanding of load securement (chains, binders, straps) * Ability to operate equipment for loading/unloading * Willingness to work a regional schedule with some overnights and weekend flexibility * Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail * Customer-facing professionalism Work Schedule & Expectations * Primarily regional routes (home most nights, with planned exceptions) * Overnight trips as needed based on distance and scheduling * Weekend work required on an as-needed basis (not constant, but part of the role) * Start times and daily hours may vary based on workload and delivery schedules   Essential Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds and may infrequently lift and/or move up to seventy-five (75) pounds.
