As Smart Choice Metering continues its rapid expansion; we are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for Regional Field Managers to join our growing team. These roles are based around The Yorkshire and Midlands/Cotswolds team and will play a key part in supporting our field operations.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 2 years Proven experience in a similar management-level role, ideally with responsibility for overseeing multiple contracts.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience within the metering industry with a demonstrated track record of safety.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety practices, with a focus on team welfare and compliance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and confident in using email and digital reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and supportive leadership style.
  • Ability to consistently follow and enforce operational procedures and company policies.
  • Comfortable conducting audits, managing individual and team performance, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Full UK driving licence
Responsibilities

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Field Manager to oversee a team of engineers operating across the Midlands region or South West. You will be responsible for ensuring all field activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with company policies and industry regulations. You will also play a vital role in reporting on performance and compliance standards.

  • Oversee and audit field activities, ensuring the safety of the team through the consistent application of company Health & Safety practices.
  • Lead and manage direct reports, handling all performance management and HR matters, including recruitment, induction, training, appraisals, absence management, timekeeping, disciplinary actions, and performance issues.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews for team members to ensure consistent development and achievement of goals.
  • Foster a culture of compliance with Health & Safety standards, promoting team welfare and ensuring all objectives are met.
  • Monitor and ensure that Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are achieved by the team of engineers.
  • Manage resources effectively by planning team requirements and overseeing recruitment and induction processes, in line with company protocols.
  • Lead, motivate, and engage team members, ensuring they are aligned with commercial objectives and team goals.
  • Ensure all installations are performed accurately and in compliance with industry regulations.
  • Maintain compliance with industry standards and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to gather and assess requirements for future system improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Ensure engineers are equipped with the necessary tools and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and that these items are regularly checked, replaced, or repaired as needed.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for customer complaints, vehicle damage, on-site incidents, and quality control issues to identify areas for improvement.
  • Optimise service delivery by championing a customer-centric approach and striving for continuous improvement in service standards.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety regulations and the successful implementation of company targets, applying best practices to all tasks undertaken and conducting audits at customer premises as required.
  • Analyse data to inform decision-making, drive process improvements, and enhance overall team and commercial performance.
