Job Description We are now looking for an experienced Regional Fleet Engineer to strengthen our highly skilled and high performing Fleet Services Team. This is a regional role, so the locations you will be covering are; XXXXX so travel is an essential part of this role. In this position you will be responsible for ensuring our vehicles that are being used are safe and legally compliant. You will also be upskilling depot staff in the safe use of equipment, and ensuring that they are aware of the company defect and booking procedures. You’ll also be focused on; Looking at supplier performance, and monitoring, associated services, and cost as well as auditing the quality of work. Carrying out weight checks, fleet checks, and site inspections. Identifying key areas and causes of vehicle damage and work with the Depot Management Team to devise strategies to reduce damage sustained Ensuring all suppliers of vehicle related goods and services meet company requirements, in terms of cost and legal compliance (including health and safety considerations) Qualifications What we’re looking for; As the successful candidate you will have extensive vehicle mechanical knowledge, and demonstrable experience within the transport sector. We would also expect; Ability to carry out internal audits. Strong financial awareness Strong decision making and problem solving skills The ability to engage and build strong working relationships with employees and suppliers Excellent communication skills both written and verbal A great team player who demonstrates the core DPD DNA values of Passion, Respect, Honesty, Flexibility, Hard Work and Accountability. Additional Information Job Specifics Travel around the region will be an essential part of this role as well as some overnight stays. Therefore you must hold a Full UK Driving Licence and preferably Category C1 You will have a comprehensive induction to DPD, this will include both a corporate induction followed by a thorough induction of our Hubs and wider Network Operation.
